About The Event

Addressing the climate and biodiversity crises requires a huge cultural shift, and where better to influence that shift than from within the cultural sector. The role of the arts in both mirroring and calalysing cultural change is enormous, and is absolutely essential to our success in the race to zero.

In preparation for the long-awaited return of live theatre, hear how Metta Theatre are simultaneously greening their own working practices, working with others in the sector through the Metta Green environmental consultancy and inspiring personal heartfelt responses to the climate and ecological crises with their audiences.

About the Speaker:

William Reynolds read Engineering & Computer Science at Oriel College (2002-2006), before going on to the Motley Theatre Design School, a freelance career as a theatre set and lighting designer, and founding Metta Theatre, a leading mid-scale touring theatre company in the UK. Will has worked with the Royal Opera House, The Globe Theatre, English National Opera, The Royal Court and recently with Oxford Philharmonia & Classic FM on their Tribute to the Oxford Vaccine Teams.

Will is a passionate believer in the power of the arts to catalyse change, and during the pandemic he launched Metta Green as an environmental consultancy arm of the theatre company, bringing the Metta’s pioneering work on sustainability in the arts over the last 10 years to the wider arts and entertainment industry.
