OxCAN Connect: Implications of IEA’s Net Zero by 2050 report. June Session (Saturday morning)

These informal sessions, in the first week of every month, are a chance to get to know each other, share ideas and make connections. Each month we’ll break into groups to discuss a key topic, and will finish with a Q&A for any questions as we get started as a network.

During this session, we’ll deep-dive into the IEA’s landmark “Net Zero by 2050" report. The report outlines a roadmap to achieving the 1.5°C warming target in the Paris agreement, led by a revolution of the electricity system. Please join us for a session where we’ll briefly outline why this report is a dealbreaker and discuss how it can be used to accelerate a concerted effort to achieve significant emissions reductions targets. • 35 mins discussions in groups
• 15 mins summary

We encourage you to get acquainted with the report (particularly pages 113-120) prior to the session but please do not feel discouraged to join us without prepping!
