About The Event

In this event focused on enabling just climate action, Kimberly Hill Knot will discuss the importance of community engagement and the role of corporations in addressing environmental justice.

Kimberly Hill Knott is President & CEO of Future Insight Consulting, LLC, which specializes in corporate sustainability, advocacy and coalition building around climate change and other social impact causes. Recently, Kimberly received a certificate in Sustainable Management from Duke University and her company is certified as a National Women’s Business Enterprise through the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council-Great Lakes Women’s Business Council. Prior to Kimberly becoming a full-time entrepreneur, she worked for a local environmental justice organization and in the United States Congress.

After spending over a decade working under the leadership of Congressman John Conyers (Former Ranking Member, House Judiciary Committee), as a Congressional Staffer, Kimberly furthered her interest in the political arena by joining the staff of Detroiters Working for Environmental Justice (DWEJ), as Policy Director. During her tenure at DWEJ, she led the development of the city of Detroit’s first Climate Action Plan, released in fall 2017. Additionally, she co-produced From the Bottom Up: Climate Action in Detroit, a short film highlighting the impact of climate change on urban communities, namely Detroit.

Because of her leadership in addressing climate change, Kimberly has been invited to speak at many conferences and workshops, including The World Bank, Center for American Progress, and the National Adaptation Forum, among many others.
